Our Oral & Maxillofacial team developed a clinical delivery programme with a North West NHS hospital to help ease waiting list backlogs. The partnership began in July 2021 and, given its success, has been extended twice, and SHS Partners is currently working with the team until September 2022.

Solution

After an in-depth consultation with the client team, a bespoke clinical solution was designed totally around the hospital and to dovetail with its existing services.

Outcome

  • Two fully staffed clinical teams to work one Saturday each month. Each team seeing up to 12 patients daily. Therefore 24 patients in total
  • Each team consists of one ODP, two Scrub/Dental Nurses, one Healthcare Assistant and two Recovery Nurses.
  • We also provide a Ward Nurse and Healthcare Assistant as additional support.
  • The teams work alongside Trust substantive Consultants and Anaesthetists.
